DUNKLE TAGE – Dunkle Tage 7″

DUNKLE TAGE were a very special band to me. They were one of the very few UK Anarcho Punk-influenced political bands in the history of German punk. Great dark and political lyrics, really sincere.

While touring with my band, we hung out with them in their hometown Göttingen. Göttingen for some reason bred some of the most political and serious bands in Germany at the time. This is the official re-release of the self-released original from 1986.

I also saw them live in 1987 at a festival in Denmark and took some pictures

Jocim, their singer, went on to form SCHWARZE FEUER, another amazing Göttingen band. They have an EP out on Bonzen Records and a track on a HeartFirst compilation.

This DUNKLE TAGE EP originally was self-released by the band in 1986 and sold out fast. The HeartFirst re-release came out in 1992. The new version was pressed from the same stampers as the original and the cover was printed at the same print shop in Göttingen, so it’s exactly the same oversized artwork and sleeve.

This release is sold out for a long time but there has been a discography LP with all their songs. DUNKLE TAGE only really did this EP session and later recorded two more songs, one of which ended up on Something Is Wrong, an international benefit LP compilation released by their friends.
